Bob and Helen recently saw Steve Gillette perform... (see comments)
I once heard that Steve wrote Darcy Farrow for a class at UCLA, and passed it off as a traditional folk song. In fact, I may have heard Steve tell that story at the Paradox. Is that a true story?
Bob and Helen Sheffer and Dave and Tara Hall drove to Davis from our home in Nevada City last Friday evening to a house concert featuring Steve Gillett and Cindy Mangsen. Our 1st house concert ever and we loved it, such a nice atmosphere. Steve and Cindy are wonderful together, all new material, except for "Darcy Farrow" Dave took him a CD that Gary recorded in 1968 of Steve at the Paradox. Be sure to order Steve and Cindy's CD on Steve's web site: www.compassrosemusic.com It was totally wonderful seeing and hearing his magic guitar and hearing is smooth moving voice again after all these years. Cindy is a very talented women and plays a accordion and guitar, sings with Steve and alone, some really clever funny entertaining crack up songs. If you have a chance to see them, do! Helen
