I thought it was going to be folk music when I bought the record.
I'd never heard of him.

All the AM pop was there too.
...and then came folk music.
Music was so incredibly diverse.
...and now more than ever.
I still am way into Hank Williams, Lefty Frizzell, and a different Merle -- the Haggard one. Oh, yeah, and Bob Wills. I even like Buck Owens and George Jones. But I met all them later in life, after the Beatles. Maybe the moral of that story is never take up with a man from Texas!
Oh, let us not forget the Everly Brothers and of course Simon and Garfuncle, broke my heart when the Everly Bros. broke up. They were always singing right to me.

Everly Bros. were out of this world on the
Chet Atkins, Mark Knopfler thing on PBS from a few years back.
That show was the best.
My aunt Wanda was cowgirl in the 40's and 50's around the LA hills. All the C&W old timers on the radio. Cal's Corral and the Wagon Circle at Knotts with the Sons of the Pioneers.
All that ended up that Joseph Spence is my favorite.
I think the Everly Brothers used to live in Tustin, up on the hill by where Sherry Miller lived.
As a former Rendezvous Rat, I can't forget the Cindermen! I think I mentioned this before, but that's where I saw Sonny and Cher lip sync to I've Got you Babe. The songs of our youth. Ah, those were the days.
Oh, lets not forget Sam Cook.
