Welcome Paradoxers!
This blogspot will be our new home to share updates on everyone's new cd's, links to music venues, and other activities.
You can also post remembrances, photos, and any other memorabilia you would like to share. It would be great if this could become like an archive for the Paradox -- then and now.
More information to follow as I figure this out. In the meantime, please add your comments and keep the site alive and growing.
She's got my vote too. She has such an honest no frills approach to her music. Here's something else worth checkin out. I wish Bob could see this one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XyPTIOJuWws&feature=related
That song is from my favorite CD of all time -- In Spite of Ourselves -- with Prine in duets with several different women. I love this CD so much I gave it to Bob since he had never heard of it.
I have "Let The Mystery Be" in my book, and I usually introduce it as a Buddhist gospel tune. She gets to the heart of it for me.
By the way, it looks like we have a gig up near Sonora, at the Douglas Saloon, in Columbia. That's on Friday, May 21. I just found out.
The Douglas Saloon is part of the State Park that runs the restored mining town of Columbia. Gigging there in the past has been interesting. The rangers keep a lookout for anachronisms. You know..... like amps.
So we'd hire local kids as lookouts for when the rangers were coming by. A tarp would go over the amps, Jon picks up the Dobro and I swap the plank for a dreadnaught, and voila, we're a bluegrass band. They get out of range, and we're a honkytonk band again.
I have no idea if we're still going to have to deal with that, but it keeps things interesting.

I may have posted this before but I think she should win whatever awards are out there every year.
And for good measure:

That sounds like a scene out of a movie.... I think I need to write it.
