Welcome Paradoxers! This blogspot will be our new home to share updates on everyone's new cd's, links to music venues, and other activities. You can also post remembrances, photos, and any other memorabilia you would like to share. It would be great if this could become like an archive for the Paradox -- then and now. More information to follow as I figure this out. In the meantime, please add your comments and keep the site alive and growing.

This is SO funny. Thank goodness for the Daily Show. Who knew the news could be so funny?!
Speaking of talking through one's hat, it was the Righteous Brothers who lived on the hill by Sherry Miller.
Don't know now where the Everly Brothers lived. Could be they lived far from one another given they apparently didn't like one another much.
The Everlys worked out of, and probably lived in, Nashville. Their father, Ike Everly, who had learned to play from the same guy as Merle Travis, was a hero to Chet Atkins, who produced Ike's kids.
A friend of mine, Mike Godwin, came up with a law that is constantly referred to when Hitler comparisons come up in online discussions.
Godwin's Law
"As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1."
Does he have a mustache? He must be a Nazi.....
Even though Glenn Beck is quite capable of reaming himself, it's always nice to see somebody else is equal to the task. HIMMLER!
WAY off topic (other than it's paradoxical as Jimmie would say), but this is a true story.
I never watch t.v. but right after 9/11 I actually started watching t.v. news. Switching through channels, I stumbled on a comedy show with some guy pretending to be a newsman -- he wore a 30s style hat with a "PRESS" ticket in the brim and had an old-fashioned typewriter on the desk next to him. Like the costume, his humor was way over the top.
But so soon after the events of 9-11 I found the jokes he told to be really tasteless and quickly changed the channel. When I mentioned this comedy show to a friend, who was more media savvy, she said -- oh, that wasn't comedy, that was Fox News. You were watching Matt Drudge.
The first time I ever saw some real excerpts of Glenn Beck on the Daily Show -- with the blackboard and the lines and photos etc. -- I also thought that was comedy. I was sure it was a total put-on. Jon Stewart did a great send-up of it, but Beck did fine stand-up comedy on his own.
I later found out _that_ was also not meant to be funny.
As the Chinese curse goes, may you live in interesting times. It's indeed a Paradox.
