Welcome Paradoxers!
This blogspot will be our new home to share updates on everyone's new cd's, links to music venues, and other activities.
You can also post remembrances, photos, and any other memorabilia you would like to share. It would be great if this could become like an archive for the Paradox -- then and now.
More information to follow as I figure this out. In the meantime, please add your comments and keep the site alive and growing.
Looks like Linda Manzer's "Pikasso" guitar that was built in 1983 for Pat Methaney. Linda builds awesome guitars and I have been lucky enough to play a few of her instruments.
But I think this particular one that you have up is another custom one that she has built for someone else. Pat's guitar had no inlay in the headstocks.
Yes it is that same "Pikasso" This is her website and a video of the guitar. Pretty amazing piece of luthier work. http://www.manzer.com/guitars/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=25&Itemid=24
Well, it surely is one of her Pikasso guitars, never disputed it, but it is not the original. There is more than one. I mistyped the year that it was made (the original) should have read 1993.
Gary and Susan Mullen said... This is what Linda Manzer says about the two Pikasso builds:
ORIGIN.... In 1984 Pat Metheny asked me to design and build a guitar with "as many strings as possible." The resulting collaboration was the Pikasso guitar. In 1992 I was asked by the late Scott Chinery to build a strictly acoustic version of Metheny's Pikasso. Thus, Pikasso II. This second Pikasso was recently on display at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts in a show called "Dangerous Curves".
I guess my dates are wrong. I have been relying on memory. Acoustic guitars are my line of work, buying, selling, brokering, and collecting. After awhile, I have so much info in my pea brain, that I just get overwhelmed with it, and sometimes it's all a blur.....but I digress, I just want to play them.
